NOSTALGIA

The moonlight. by wlazy

The Moonlight by wlazy

A most stunning scene (created in Bryce) of a lone ship sailing far away into the light of a full moon.  I see the suggestion of two tiny characters to the left.  Could they be the Owl and the Pussycat?  What a wonderful fantasy creation to behold!

Shell Collector by Velvet--Glove

I am reminded of childhood memories of collecting sea shells with my grandmother, dad and uncle at Winchelsea and remember thinking how pretty they were with all their different shapes and colours.  And later on in my youth, of sea life to be found in the little Cornish rock-pools.  These shapes and colours are wonderfully evocative of those reminiscences - the few happier times in my distant past...

Gwin by zisgul

Gwin by zisgul

This brings to mind billowing sales of an ancient ship, perhaps in the early history of America.  (The USS Gwin was a destroyer presumably with no sails, so that can't be it.)  This abstract work of art (created in UF) has some very interesting shadowy areas defining the intriguing Ducky shapes and I find the overall composition very pleasant and fascinating.  I could look at it for a very long time and wonder about Gwin...

That's Life by Joe-Maccer

That's Life by Joe-Maccer

A glorious symphony of harmonious hues with the suggestion of blueberries behind the wonderful late summer flowers as Fall approaches.  A great illustration of Paul Thorn's song "That's Life", which appears to be composed out of a collection of his mother's sayings...  Both the song and the image are filled with a strong sense of nostalgia.  [link]

Venice Carnival by maya49m

Venice Carnival by Maya49

A really well titled piece of fractal art is this image (created in Xaos), depicting the Venice Carnival in all its finery of colours, costume and, what I see here as, a central spiral stairway down which the ladies' dresses would have flowed as their wearers dashed down to join the happy crowds outside.  Do go to the link provided by the artist [link] to get a great insight into this event.

What a wonderful feature, as usual. I'm glad that you included the Bryce piece, as it's gorgeous.
