I have a strong suspicion that times ahead for me will be vastly more difficult and restricted than they have been up till now. After visiting my GP this morning, it is thought that I had a mini-stroke during an exceptionally prolonged and painful migraine a month ago, and although the symptoms, mainly affecting my left hand, have greatly improved, things are still not as they should be, and I've been referred to the Neurology Department, and had some medication changes too.

All in all, I have had within me a strong need to reach beyond the bounds of my knowledge, the things I see and feel, indeed, the things I shall one day leave behind. I need to see and experience something heavenly.. Beautiful.. Serene and peaceful, to get my thoughts off myself and any fears I have. I have faced the possibility of sudden death for years because of my heart condition, but not wanted to think too much about long-term suffering here on earth beforehand - something I know to be an all too sad reality for millions of people.

When I created "What Lies Beyond" [link] it was very much an attempt to convey something of what it might be like to stand somewhere near the edge of Life - this world - and to meditate on the unimaginable beauty of what lies beyond. I couldn't get these thoughts out of my mind, and went on to create this picture, trying to comprehend the pull towards a dimension of which I have little understanding, simply because its deeply spiritual. My faith in God draws me towards a Heavenly place, along with my belief that His only begotten Son, my Saviour will be there when the time comes, to take me on into His glorious Presence.

Although my understanding is that this Heaven, and the New Earth that shall be created, will be flawless and indescribably beautiful, vibrant and sweet to the soul that passes into it, there are fears too.. The moment of dying may not be so straight-forward. Maybe we experience some ghostly darkness before we reach the Light.. Maybe, as the different facets of our lives pass before our spiritual eyes, we feel so ashamed that we can hardly accept the Redemption that is said to be ours if we have Faith, and so we look down at the darkness and feel the evil around us - but we must remember to look up - look for the Light..

I don't know - its all speculation, but these artworks have been my attempt to express some of these thoughts.

I will always try to visit new pages and to thank people personally where possible, but please excuse me if I don't always make it, and also if I & at times. This is because I have two accounts here, which keeps me extremely busy and I try to keep some time left for being creative.
